I've been dreaming about Morocco for years. Next May I'm finally going, and on the way I'm taking in Porto, Lisbon, Seville and the ferry across the strait. I'd love for you to come with me.
I chose this route because it earns every one of its fifteen days. Three countries most people hope to see once in a lifetime, strung together at a pace that leaves room to actually enjoy them. Small group, brilliant local guides, and me, travelling with you the whole way, not waving you off from Vancouver.
Bring a friend, bring your sister, or come on your own like most of the group will. You don't need a travel partner. You don't need to have everything figured out. Book the call, that's the only decision today.

How the fifteen days unfold
The journey begins in Madrid on 2 May 2027 and ends in Marrakech on 16 May. Here is the shape of it.

Chapter one
Madrid, where it begins
Day 1
Arrive whenever suits you; the day is yours to land, wander and find your first plate of jamón. In the evening the group meets for the first time over dinner. Fourteen people at most, all of whom said yes to the same adventure. By dessert you'll have your first travel stories going and a fair idea of who you're sharing the next two weeks with.
Chapter two
Portugal, coast to table
Days 2 to 6 · Porto, Lisbon, Évora
The road to Porto runs through Salamanca, where lunch happens beneath sandstone that turns gold in the afternoon. Porto gives you two nights: a walking introduction to the city, an evening in a port wine cellar by the river, and the option of a lazy cruise on the Douro. Then Lisbon, with a whole free day to spend on trams, pastéis de nata or a side trip to Sintra, and an evening of Fado and dinner in one of the city's oldest neighbourhoods. On the way south you stop in Évora, a walled Alentejo town, for its extraordinary Chapel of Bones and a long Alentejo lunch hour.

Chapter three
Andalusia, colour and heat
Days 7 to 9 · The Algarve coast, Seville, and the crossing
South through the Algarve with a stop in Olhão, a working fishing town with a proper morning market. Then Seville, where the Santa Cruz quarter tangles into flower-hung alleys and the Alcázar waits behind carved doorways. In the evening, flamenco loud enough to feel in your chest. On day nine the group boards a ferry at Algeciras and crosses to Tangier. Standing on deck with Spain behind you and Morocco ahead is the moment this whole trip is named after.
Chapter four
Morocco, another world entirely
Days 10 to 15 · Chefchaouen, Fès, Casablanca, Marrakech
Morocco opens with Tetouan's whitewashed medina, then climbs into the Rif Mountains to Chefchaouen, the blue city, for sunset over the rooftops. The next day you walk in the Rif hills and make goat's cheese with a local family; your money on this trip stays with the people whose towns you're visiting, and this is what that looks like in practice. Then Fès and its nine thousand medieval lanes, the tanneries, dinner of warm pastilla. The route rolls on through the Roman ruins of Volubilis and the souks of Meknes to Casablanca, and finishes in Marrakech, where you fly home or stay on. I can build you extra days in Marrakech or anywhere else; that is rather my job.
The rhythm of the days
Most mornings start with breakfast together, included every day. Guided walks and visits usually happen in the mornings; afternoons are often yours. Climb a cathedral tower, hunt for ceramics, park yourself in a café and watch a city go past. On travel days the group moves by train, private vehicle and, once, by ferry, and someone else is always watching the clock so you don't have to.
Evenings are the best part. Two dinners are included, the Fado night in Lisbon and a traditional dinner in Fès, and most other nights the group ends up eating together anyway because nobody wants to miss the table talk. You're always welcome and never obliged; an early night with a book is a legitimate travel activity.
You'll share a comfortable twin room with another traveller, matched before departure, or take the one single room if you're quick. Hotels are well located and comfortable, chosen so you walk out the front door into the middle of things.
Why a small group
Fourteen travellers at most, and it changes everything
Small groups change how a trip feels. You fit into family-run restaurants and hear your guide without a headset. A medina treats fourteen people like guests; a coach tour gets treated like a crowd.
They change who you meet, too. Some of my closest friendships started at a shared table on a group trip years ago, and I've watched it happen for others on every departure since. Travel with people who chose the same adventure and two weeks is enough to matter.

International flights. I'll guide your timing and can book them for you; hold off until I confirm the group is set.
Most lunches and dinners. Budget roughly USD $360 to $470 for the full trip; you'll eat brilliantly for less than you think in all three countries.
Travel insurance, required for every traveller: emergency medical cover including evacuation to at least USD $200,000. Cancellation cover is strongly recommended too, and I can point you to the right policy.
Optional experiences along the way, such as the Douro cruise, the Alcázar visit, a Sintra day trip and the Lisbon food tour.

Is this your kind of trip?
It will fit if
You want three countries in one go with the planning entirely off your plate. You're happy on your feet: cobbles, hills and medina lanes are part of the fun. You like company at dinner and freedom in the afternoons. You can roll with it when travel does what travel does. And you'd rather come home with stories than with a tan and nothing else.
It will not fit if
You want five-star luxury at every stop; these hotels are comfortable and brilliantly placed rather than grand. You'd rather set your own route and pace entirely; if that's you, I design private trips for a living and would love to build you one instead. Or long travel days genuinely aren't your thing; there are a few, and they're honest ones. Not sure? That's what the call is for. I'll tell you straight.
The questions worth asking
I'd be coming on my own. Is that normal?
Completely. Most of the group will be solo travellers, and small-group trips are the easiest way in the world to travel alone without ever eating dinner alone. You'll share a twin room with another solo traveller, matched with care before departure, or take the single room for CAD $1,539 more while it lasts.
Can I bring a friend or my partner?
Please do. Couples and friends share a twin room together, and travelling as a pair inside a small group is the best of both: built-in company plus twelve new dinner companions.
How fit do I need to be?
Comfortably mobile rather than athletic. There's a fair amount of walking on cobbles, hills and medina lanes, one gentle guided walk in the Rif Mountains, and some longer travel days between cities. If you can enjoy a full day of sightseeing on foot, you'll be fine. Ask me on the call if you're unsure.
When should I book my flights?
Not yet. The departure is confirmed once the group reaches its minimum size, and I'll tell you the moment it's safe to book. Arrive by 2 May 2027 and home from Marrakech on or after 16 May. I can book your flights so the timing is handled for you.
What happens if I book and then can't travel?
Your CAD $350 deposit is held as a credit for future travel if you cancel more than 60 days before departure, rather than refunded. Inside 60 days, cancellation charges apply to the balance, which is exactly why insurance with cancellation cover is strongly recommended. I'll walk you through the terms plainly before you commit anything.
Who runs the trip on the ground?
The tour is operated by G Adventures, the world's largest small-group adventure travel company, with a professional local guide leading the full route and specialist guides in each city. You book through Delivering Dreams Travel, which means I handle your reservation, your questions and your support personally, and I'm travelling with the group the entire way.
Is Morocco comfortable for a group like this?
Yes. The route through Tetouan, Chefchaouen, Fès and Casablanca is well travelled, and the group is accompanied throughout by local guides who know it intimately. You'll experience the medinas, the mountains and a great deal of mint tea with someone knowledgeable beside you the whole time.
